Get to Know Us
In the local community there are many due to age out of DCF custody- facing homelessness, and countless families without stable housing working towards reunification.
Many of these individuals do not know where to begin, or have the needed skills to be successful and independent.
Many face substance use barriers, housing barriers, employment, education barriers, and often do not know where to start to make the changes needed.

We are a group of volunteers who many of us have lived experience with Department of Children and
Families in a number of different ways such as:
Past foster youth who on their 18th birthday was put out on the street and was homeless, foster parents, parents who had their children taken, kinship foster parents, caregivers, and those who just share our passion.

Whispering Woods Project Independence is working hard to launch a larger facility to provide much needed services to our community.
